Making waves at the show - Pioner Boats will be displaying rescue crafts at the show

Pioner Boats will once again have a substantial display of Rescue Craft on display at the show on Stand No. OS42.
Pioner Multi - one particular craft that is currently finding particular favour in the water rescue sector, especially fast flowing shallow waters, is the five metre Pioner Multi. With its tough hull and a draft of only 20cm it is not prone to the damage from underwater objects and obstructions that inflatable craft are so exposed to.
Approved by Det Norske Veritas and available to MCA Code, these inexpensive polyethylene workboats offer exceptional durability and longevity. Similar in style to a catamaran, the twin hull configuration of the Pioner Multi not only offers tremendous stability, a huge uncluttered self draining working deck and a payload capacity of 1200kg, it also has a unique drop down bow door which greatly assists in the recovery of able bodied persons and those who are wheelchair bound.
The design makes the difficult task of recovering casualties from the water so much simpler and safer for all concerned, helping minimise possible trauma to the casualty as they can now be recovered aboard at waterline level and not hauled up and over the side of a vessel. Capable of speeds up to 28 knots, and available with the option of the company's ‘Water jet’ drive outboard engine instead of a conventional propeller, the risk of possible injury to persons in the water is dramatically reduced.
The polyethylene construction of the hull not only provides exceptional impact resistance and longevity, it also helps reduce the time and costs of ongoing maintenance. Weighing in at circa 800kg, the Pioner Multi is readily trailable by a relatively small vehicle and with its custom made trailer, launch and recovery of the craft is effortless. There will be a couple of ‘Operational’ versions on display, to include West Sussex Fire and Rescue; and a ‘Covert’ craft.
MCA Unit
Also on display from Pioner Boats will be its MCA Unit (Multiple Craft Assistance). This is a unique system in that there are 3 x 4m craft complete with their engines stacked one on top of another, all loaded onto a flatbed trailer ready for immediate deployment. The boats are Steady 400 models that are similar in style to an inflatable dinghy but are again made from polyethylene and have all the benefits this material offers the Pioner Multi listed above.
To aid with the speed of deployment the trailer has been fitted with a davit lifting arm to make launch and recovery of the craft as simple and easy as possible. In an emergency, a rescue organisation can couple the trailer to a suitable tow vehicle and deploy the rescue craft one or several different locations to maximise effectiveness.
Supplied and supported by Pioner Boats UK, these versatile boats are tailored to suit individual requirements and they are firmly establishing themselves as a serious and cost effective solution in the small work/rescue craft sector.
